Booking Me
What I am like
Having a chat... introductions. Some couples like to talk on the phone, some video call, some like to meet in person. Any of these are all fine with me. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible and this also allows the chance for both sides to ask questions, so if you'd like to chat to discuss things, just let me know. I'm happy to oblige. There is a list of information I will ask for to make an invoice for you, regardless of how a booking comes about - even if done purely via email.
Photography packages... prices. We all know weddings are expensive, and one of the biggest expenses is the photography. I know not everyone can afford a lot, which is why I have two options for each package, so even 'shoe-string' weddings can still have some coverage from a professional photographer. I do my best to keep my prices low but doing photography is expensive - there's the camera body (££££), camera lenses (££££), just one battery costs about £250, and I have 2, just to play it safe for your wedding. Then there's the insurance, and photoshop costs too, travel time, car and parking costs, and all this isn't including the editing time. Wedding photography isn't 'just a days work', a full day's coverage is then an entire working week's editing time.
On the day... everything is somewhat play it by ear, even with a run down of the day. So I go with the flow. If you want me to capture something which was unprepared, that's fine, just say. If there's a last minute change of plan, that's fine, just let me know. I have had to go beyond the call of duty before such as when I had to give a lift to the bridal party as the taxi refused to wait for them. I have carried mobile phones and makeup with me as brides and bridesmaids don't always have bags with them. I have done bridesmaids corsets for them as no one knew how to do that. I am always happy to help out anyway I can to make sure your day runs smoothly.
After the big day... comes the editing. Obviously, the smaller the coverage, the faster you will get your photos back. Large, all day weddings can take up to 4-6 weeks during wedding season. I know you're anxious to get your photos back, but please be patient. I like to make sure I am absolutely happy with every photo before I give them to you. I will notify you once they are done and confirm the address I am sending them to. All USB sticks are sent signed for to make sure you receive it, safely in hand.
All I ask is, if you are happy with your photos, please leave a review on my facebook page. I will then later add it to this website.
Coverage
Preparations. This is usually the bride and bridal party getting ready. Hair. Make up. Jewellery. Tiara. Bouquets. Dresses. Shoes. Smiles. Laughs. Drinks. The car. Any other bits you can think of or crop up on the day.
The Ceremony. Guests arriving. Groom. Groomsmen. The room. Bride's arrival - if I am able to. Bride and Bridesmaids walking down the aisle - REMEMBER, TAKE YOUR TIME. This is one the most special moments of your life. Slow your pace. Make the most of every second. This also allows me to get more beautiful photos of you - just don't forget to smile! Holding hands. Lots of smiles of guests and the lucky couple. Saying names and vows. The rings being placed on the other's finger. The kiss. Signing of the register - with posed photos with witnesses. Walking back down the aisle.
Group photos. When it comes to the group photos, I like to get a mass group photo first, before people start disappearing and jackets and ties start coming off. Then I usually do family photos, so Mum and Dad and Grandparents can sit down and take it easy, and before young ones start to get too restless. Then friends after. Please let me know if there are any special guests. I have had old school friends they haven't seen in 15 years attend, aswell as guests from Australia. We don't want to miss these guys!
Cake and Speeches. I usually get the cake and table decorations while everyone is enjoying the drinks reception, so I can capture the room and details before they get disturbed. People don't like having their photo taken while they're eating, so I use this time to go and find something to eat myself. I just need to know when you are planning on doing your speeches - before the meal, after mains or after dessert. Some couples like to do a fake cake cutting before everyone crowds around later. I am happy to do this.
First Dance. That special moment when you gaze lovingly into each others eyes... and feel incredibly aware that everyone is watching you. Don't worry about them! You guys just be in the moment! The best photos are of those you can see are completely emersed in eachother. Your happiness shines through in your photos.
As I mentioned before, I take a lot of photos. Now you can see why. I will let you know once they are all edited and ready to go. =)
